Jack in the Green

Jack in the Green

Jack in the Green (2000)

Blog with a View, at heart, is a digital art photoblog. Each Wednesday, I present an image without the usual distracting and superfluous wordiness or jokes about Lucky Charms.

One of the great things about fractals is no one will ever speculate that something you've made is a self-portrait.

I like Lucky Charms. The no-name varieties like Dino-Stars are just as good too. If I could go back in time and only take one thing with me to trade with, it would be Lucky Charms. The neanderthals would swap anything for a box of those. And then worship the empty box.

Hey, my "blog photo" is a fractal self-portrait. It looks just like me, too, ever since that sad episode with the teleportation pod from David Cronenberg's The Fly.

We built an altar at my house. We cast a large bronze statue of the leprechaun in a sitting Buddha pose. We light incense, twist into a lotus position, and quietly chant "magically delicious."

Reminds me of the Amaryllis Eyes photo I took. Quite accidental. Trick of shadow made it appear the flower had eyes.

idyllopus: Thanks for sharing the link. Your flower picture is amazing. I would have assumed the image had been digitally manipulated because the eyes are uncanny in their realism.

The face in "Jack in the Green" was found zooming into the fractal itself. Although I enhanced and manipulated the image, I did not tile it to produce that effect.
