Generation of Vacuum

Erasure of privacy complete
For credit card shock
Toothless grin before shaving

The young give that blank stare
Face or no face in a glacial frieze
Sucking oxygen out of the air

Pay to keep them off the streets
They’re at the doorbell, spaced
Emptier than an answered prayer

They’ll repeat whatever you say
Whether or not it solves anything
There is always the net to be filled

What is empty incrementally expands
You’ll never stop shoveling
Bones into their ovens

Death calms in insulin drips
Just learn to love the pain
Nothing lasts forever
